On Saturday, October 26 , 2024, the Marquis de Lafayette’s stop in Petersburg on his Farewell tour in 1824 will be commemorated with a day of activities beginning with tours of historic revolutionary war and 1824 buildings from 10 am – 1 pm, followed by a series of talks at Petersburg Public Library from 1 pm – 5 pm. Daytime events are FREE to attend and open to all.
In the evening, a ticketed Celebratory Banquet will be held featuring a visit from the marquis, historic toasts, and colonial food and drink.
