THE JOURNEY
Join us for a visual odyssey that refuses to be confined to a single genre. This abridged retrospective reveals the truths of a life shaped by adversity, uplifted by triumph, and sustained by enduring hope. Across these canvases, you’ll witness the artist’s evolution—his shifting passions, expanding vision, and deepening commitment to storytelling. Each piece marks a moment of reckoning within an ongoing creative experiment that began only a few years ago and has grown into the body of work you will see.
After a four-decade career in banking, Vernon entered retirement with a renewed commitment to creativity — a return to a passion that had quietly shaped his life for decades. Always with an eye for the aesthetics, he sees art in all things and especially clothes, living spaces and buildings. Though he has always dabbled in art, including a period working with textiles, painting became his true focus later in life. What began as exploration has grown into a dedicated practice.
Today, Vernon paints primarily with acrylics, creating works that center on strength, simple beauty, and deeply held values. His subjects often reflect the resilience of everyday life, the quiet dignity found in ordinary moments, and the inner fortitude required to navigate a world that does not always make space for softness or truth.
Through color, form, and symbolism, Vernon’s paintings invite viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most. His work is both personal and universal — a testament to the idea that it is never too late to begin again, and that creativity can flourish at any stage of life.
