The Dixie is a longstanding favorite local diner in Old Towne Petersburg. It has been in its current location since 1939 and continues to serve delicious, made-from-scratch Southern comfort food. The famous Dixie Dog, topped with chili, is just one of the many items on their extensive menu.

If you want to enjoy breakfast on a Saturday morning, you may have to wait for a few minutes. Folks flock here for Biscuits and Gravy, Omelets, Grits, and Country Ham with Fried Apples and Eggs, amongst other classic breakfast items. At lunchtime, you can enjoy everything from Liver and Onions to Chicken and Dumplings to Fried Catfish to Salads, as well as great Burgers and Sandwiches. They offer a wide variety of sides, such as collard greens and macaroni and cheese. Whatever you do, save room for dessert! The Peanut Butter Pie is a little slice of heaven. Visitors will experience fine southern hospitality and great homestyle cooking here.
