Join Sankofa Travels with Kofi on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 12 PM – 5 PM at Metropolitan Baptist Church (1021 Halifax St, Petersburg, VA) for the Sankofa Diaspora Fest—an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the richness of African and diasporic culture.
This family-friendly event will feature:
African drumming and dance
Spoken word performances
Local Black-owned vendors & artisans
Food from across the African diaspora
The Sankofa Rice Cookoff, highlighting dishes that tell the story of our global connections
The festival supports the Sankofa Scholars Program, which will send Petersburg High School students to Ghana in summer 2026 for a cultural immersion experience if our fundraising efforts are successful. Your participation helps make that opportunity possible.
Vendor applications are open through April 1, 2026.
